The Academy Corners Blues Committee is committed to supporting live music and hosting special music-oriented events that will leave you with memories to hopefully last a lifetime. From national acts to the best artists on the regional scene, as well as catered foods, tasty beverages and the occasional "treats" like hot-air balloon rides, skydivers, air shows or Civil War cannon shootouts ... we know how to put on a show. And, we choose our musical acts from a true love & respect for the music they make ... for you to enjoy. Join us sometime, won't ya? We promise you a day or night to remember!

The Coal Festival is a celebration commemorating Blossburg and the surrounding area’s rich mining history and the diversity of our ancestors. In 1792 coal was discovered in the Blossburg area during the building of Williamson Road. Coal quickly became a valuable resource that brought many people to the area to work in the local coal mines. Many of the towns in our area were created because of the mining that took place. Although mining no longer takes place in the area, we honor our history and heritage with the annual Coal Festival. The first Coal Festival was held Memorial Day weekend in 1993, 201 years after coal was discovered in Blossburg. The event continues to be held on Memorial Day weekend each year. We invite you, your family and friends to help us celebrate!

Raise the Region is a unique 30-hour online giving campaign that gives community members an opportunity to support our local nonprofits by helping them raise as much money as possible! Join us for the Annual Wellsboro Christmas on Main Street! Stroll along our gas lit Main Street, shop local, and enjoy our picturesque town! Visit 30 displays of historic ornaments made locally in the early 1940's and learn how Wellsboro saved Christmas during World War II. It’s a weekend of activities to warm your heart and fill you with Christmas spirit!
